How to Be an Admin in Roblox

Posted on

Admins are Roblox employees who have been granted the Administrator badge on the website. Some employees are given special privileges to perform certain actions on the platform that regular users cannot do, but not all members of the staff have these powers.

These include the ability to ban and unban the user accounts, IP addresses, control the site’s functions and add or edit avatar shop items. Admins regard the badge as employees after being hired, and currently Roblox has over 350 employees with this badge.

In order to become an Admin or Roblox employee, the person is required to work at Roblox Headquarters in San Mateo, California or in Shenzhen, China. But, some contractors and employees are hired from all over the world. InceptionTime and some members of the international developer engagement team do not work at the headquarters. Also, you have to be at least 18 years of age or older to have an actual job at Roblox. Roblox publishes a list of the jobs available and people are able to apply for these jobs.

Usually, all Roblox employees have the administrator badge on their profiles, and in-game they are going to have a Roblox logo next to their name on the player list, allowing the users to distinguish them from regular players with ease. If a player who does not have the badge claims to be an administrator or a moderator in a message somewhere on the site, they are lying and should be reported. There are some accounts owned by the developers or moderators that do not possess the badge, but they will not act as administrators or moderators from these accounts. Certain administrators such as Builderman and InceptionTime are more recognized than other Roblox Admins. Usually, they get the most feedback due to their iconic presence on the platform of Roblox.

There are some methods to figure out if someone else is a Roblox Admin:

One method to tell if someone is admin or not is to check the badges on their profile. All Roblox Admins will have the Roblox Admin badge which is located in their badge list. If they do not have this badge and are claiming to be staff, you are able to report it by using the Report Abuse links on their profile.

In-Game Leaderboards

Also, there is a method to determine who works for Roblox while inside of the games. When in-game, the leaderboard in the upper-right corner is going to list all players currently playing. Roblox Admin will be indicated by a tilted square icon.

Admin Group

To find a list of Roblox Admins, you are able to visit the Roblox admin group. It is very important to note that Roblox admins will never ask you for your password. If anyone asks for your password or claims to be Roblox admin but does not have the Admin badge, please report them by using the Report Abuse links which are located around the site.
