On Roblox platform, there is a Hype Dance emote. It is an emote that was published into the avatar shop on August 27, 2019, specifically for the NFL 2019 event. The Hype Dance emote could have been purchased for free before it went off-sale. According to the research, as of September 28, 2019, the Hype Dance emote has been bought around 5,900,700 times with 128,259 favorites.

You have to know that there is another method to get a Hype dance emote. Apparently, the members of Roblox Video Stars Program were given this Hype Dance emote a day early. For your information, originally the emote icon was a silhouette of the Mannequin Blocky bundle until it was changed to a silhouette of an NFL Rthro bundle on August 30, 2019. This emote got lots of criticism due to the emote also being in the famous third-person shooter Fortnite. But, the emote did not come from Fortnite.

An Emote is an action that the players do whilst in-game. Currently, there are 7 universal emotes and 49 purchasable emotes (Rthro and R15 only). Based on the research, the emotes were introduced on October 2, 2013. You as the player are able to type in /e [emote] into the chat for the character to do a universal emote. Or you are also able to use the emote menu. Please remember that all emotes are silent. The emotes only make your avatar move. If you are sitting down, such as in a chair or in your car, so you will be able to  receive a prompt telling you that you cannot use an emote right now.

Historically, an emote menu was added to the Roblox launcher on June 24, 2019, as well as a section for emotes to be purchased in the avatar shop . The first emotes to be added were Stadium, Tilt, and Salute, all of which can only be used with R15 avatars. The emotes are able to be accessed in-game by clicking the silhouette of a white Roblox avatar on the top of the menu or pressing B. Before the implementation of the emote menu, the players could also use these emotes by typing the general ‘/e’ (emote name)’ prefix.

Later, emote menu was removed after an hour of being live due to some complaints from the developers including “the icon did not fit well with the rest” and “this update was too sudden and uncalled for”. Some complaints were referencing the B key being overwritten without a warning. The emote menu was re-enabled on August 19, 2019.
